Help for the West Annapolis Web log (blog)

If you are new to Web logs or blogs, this page should help you use ours.

  • A blog is just like a physical bulletin board, only more flexible. When you first go to the blog, you will see all the postings on the left side of the screen, most recent first. You can scroll down and read them.
     
  • Postings can be put in categories. On the right side of the screen, you will see the categories, Development, News Delivery, Social, Traffic. Click on one of these to see only those postings. Click on “All categories to see them all.
     
  • You don’t need to login to read the blog, but you do if you want to post your own entries.  Contact the Webmaster to get a login and further instructions on posting.
     
  • The Quicksearch box on the right lets you search the postings for a word, such as “Monterey”.  Only the postings that match the search criteria are shown.
     
  • Each posting has a date on it. To see postings for a single day, use the calendar at the right.

    Help for the West Annapolis Web Site

    The Home page of this site includes a dynamic calendar and news ticker.  On the calendar, days are highlighted in dark blue when there are one or more events for that day. Click on the day and a new window will open with more detail about that event. Close that new window to return to the Home page.

    The news ticker provides news updates. To stop the ticker from scrolling, put your mouse cursor in the ticker box. If you see a link in the news (underlined and in blue), you can click on it to get more information.

    If you would like to become a contributor to the calendar or news ticker, please contact the Webmaster.

    We are using the Yahoo! service called Flickr to put photos of the neighborhood  on the Web for us all to share.  Click here to see West Annapolis photos. If you want to post your own photos, feel free to do so.  Just get yourself a FREE Flickr account, and tag any photos with the tag, “westannapolis”. (Note there is no space between the two words.)
